sooo much fun guys. had my brothers birthday yesterday at the skirmish centre. we didn't actually get to use the paintball guns and stuf because we're not 18 yet and josiah's friends definitely weren't (turning 11 party) so we used lazer guns instead. there was 4 older people playing (15-18) and about 7 younger (5-12) people playing and so the oldies went against the younger. sad to say we lost 2 out of 3 games so the littlies (naming themselves the sharks) got the better of us. that wasn't first tho...
first we played archery ... i was the first to hit the blue section (the target was all blue) but after that i had no hope. the adults joined in and get this my mum hit a bullseye. the we went to the lazer skimish. fun there..
then we went on hike around the bush rather reminded me mee-a-bun-bia remember that place some of you. suppossedly one of the girls that used to work at the skimish place went to work there. says something there doesn't it? yeah we got to climb walls and swing across ditches acting like tarzan and janes. we got to treck up so steep a hill that we had to use trees and ropes to get up. i felt sorry for the little of 5 years until he basically ran up the hill with little help from our army instructor...
yeah the instructor... wierd fellow that kept yelling at us seemed like he was on something they both did really... you remember that wall we had to climb over he just jumped over it! anyways at the end we had "walk across a dam" that's what they said anyway we really just walked aroung the edge so it got no deeper than our waists but poor guys most it got above their privates. the kids had fun and kept jumping in over the heads meanwhile (as a precaution to stop that very action) haoling onto the person's shoulders in front me being one of tallest was at front to guide the line got dragged down contantly. all in good fun tho.
we then got to stop and josiah opened presents and we all ate sausages (bbq) and cake and sang happy birthday with an army team joining us even though some didn't know josiah's name and most were off key. arwell you get the idea. overall the day was great fun and i reckon it would be a pretty good idea for an 18th party. mum says she can probably get the manager to let some younger (17 year olds) in to play skimish. it would be fun.
ps argh my aching legs and back.
